Smoothie Showdown: McDonald’s Mango Pineapple and Starbuck’s Chocolate Surprisingly Tasty Treats

Smoothie Showdown: McDonalds Mango Pineapple and Starbucks Chocolate Surprisingly Tasty Treats

Smoothies are a rather interesting beverage. For instance, they are thick in texture and could be made with fruits or vegetables with an addition of other ingredients such as water, ice, dairy products, and sweeteners.

This past week I have tried smoothies from three different places in the South Florida area including a mixed berry smoothie from the popular warehouse club Costco, a mango pineapple smoothie from a local McDonald’s, and a chocolate smoothie from the famous Starbucks. Many people, as have I, wonder; which is the best smoothie in town?

To start off, I am not fond of Costco’s mixed berry smoothie and don’t think I ever will be for that matter. Many may be all for this smoothie but frankly it is nasty and clumpy to me. The totally different ingredients like low fat yogurt, mixed berries – blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries – as well as a bit of banana does not help the fact that this smoothie is absolutely abhorrent. I opine that all of those fruits shouldn’t be used in the same beverage period because it results in a repulsive taste that simply makes the average person want to barf.

On the other hand, McDonald’s smoothies are not as entirely bad as expected. To my surprise, the mango pineapple smoothie has an amazing taste which happens to be mostly mango and at the very end a hint of pineapple, giving the smoothie. Through all these years, I would have never thought that anything at McDonald’s would taste so mouthwatering and not kill a person if they drank it every single day.

The McDonald’s smoothie tasted fresh, and both the mango and pineapple flavor distinguish it as an excellent drink. As a result, I believe that the mango pineapple smoothie is the best one that McDonald’s has to offer.

Lastly, the famous Starbucks actually has smoothies. Who knew? The chocolate smoothie was absolutely phenomenal, in my opinion as well as others. It tasted like heaven in my mouth just as any chocolate product would. Besides the main flavoring, chocolate, there is a nice energizing boost due to the hint of banana. Also, a touch of milk and mocha sauce mixed in with the banana and chocolate completes the whole smoothie. Chocolate always beats any snack, food product, or beverage. It always wins: end of story.

Overall, I can agree with many people that the mixed berry smoothie is revolting and should be taken off the market as soon as possible but the mango pineapple and chocolate smoothies are two that should stay forever because of how palatable they are.
