Maddy Miller Posts Seventh Shutout of the Season as Girls Soccer Team Improves to 6-1-2

The Olympic Heights girls soccer team got back on the winning track this week, bouncing back from its only loss of the season on Friday, Nov. 6 to West Boca 4-0, by posting three consecutive wins behind Maddy Miller’s stellar goal-tending, running its season record to 6-1-2.

The week got off to a good start on Monday, Nov. 9 with 4-0 road win over Northeast High School featuring two goals by Jamerri Cappello with additional goals by Silvana Gaona and Haley Jacobowitz. Gaona also had two assists.

The following evening, the girls squad trounced visiting Blanche Ely 11-0. The beatdown featured two goals apiece by Miranda Craig, Gigi Uleszak, and the Cappello sisters, Jammerri and Jaselyn. Additional goals were added by Jacobowitz, Michelle Pinto, and Torey Zauner.

The week’s hat trick in wins was completed on Thursday, Nov. 12 with a 3-0 home win over Coral Springs Christian. The win marked Miller’s third shutout of the week and her county-leading seventh of the season. Eva Giordano scored two goals in the win, and Zauner added one.

The Lady Lions will be home again on Monday, Nov. 23 when they look to avenge their only loss of the season to West Boca.
