LAURENCE KOSOY WINS WRESTLING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Olympic Heights senior Laurence Kosoy won the Class 2A State Championship in the 170 pound weight class by pinning Jon Shoen of Middleburg at the 5:02 mark of the championship match, Saturday evening, March 5.  Kosoy was leading by points 12-2 at the time of the pin.

Kosoy dominated the tournament by pinning all four of his opponents, finishing the 2015-16 wrestling season with a 55-1 record.

Three other OH wrestlers made it to the medal stand as well: Dan Georges took third place in the 152 pound weight class; Paul Steger took fifth in the 113 pound division, and Ethan Altabet took sixth in the 126 pound division. In all, nine OH wrestlers advanced to the state tournament.
