Second Half Dooms Lions in Loss to Santaluces

The Santaluces Chiefs’ second half onslaught proved too much for the Olympic Heights football team on Friday, Sept. 11, as the Chiefs rolled to a 38-6 win at Corey Lewis Stadium.

The Chiefs jumped to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter, but a strong second quarter showing by the Lions defense and a OH touchdown put the score at 12-6 at the half.

However, the third quarter was marred by a series of OH mishaps, a strong Santaluces offensive outburst, and a lightening delay. The Chiefs scored 24 unanswered second half points to run away from the Lions, dropping OH’s record to 1-2 on the young season.

OH will face rival West Boca on Friday, Sept. 18, looking to avenge the 77-3 drubbing the Bulls put on the Lions last season.
