OH HAPPENINGS: JROTC Rifle Team shoots straight at competition; DECA sends nine qualifiers to states
).The Olympic Heights Marine JROTC Rifle Team placed first in the New Shooter Teams classification by 120 points and placed second in the Overall classification, only 27 points out of first place.
The following team members fired Expert Scores: Ana Insignares (1st place New Shooter; 2nd place Overall; 3rd place Standing Overall; 4th place Kneeling Overall); Elsa De Leon (3rd place New Shooter; 3rd place Prone Position; 8th place Overall); Valentina Insignares (4th place New Shooter; 12th place Overall); Italo Ramirez (5th place New Shooter; 13th place Overall); Isabella Amador (6th place New Shooter: 17th place Overall); and Gabrial Bass (7th place New Shooter; 21st place Overall).
Johan Marrero, Emily Whitney, and JaChelle Erskine close out the nine OH shooters, all competing in their first in-person match and the OH’s first match in two the two years since COVID19 began.
Nine Olympic Heights DECA students qualified to advance to the March’s state level competition at the district competition on Sat., Jan. 15.
