Marvel theories abound as more shows are announced

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the latest from Marvel release and has fans very excited.

With the new WandaVision finale that was recently released, the new episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and all the announcements for future Marvel movies and TV shows, there is a lot to discuss. Marvel loves to encourage these wild theories and keep their audience on their toes, ready for anything. As a Marvel fan myself, I also like to speculate how all of it will be connected. I’ll be going over some Marvel news as well as some of the popular theories going around.

*SPOILERS WARNING*

The finale for WandaVision surprisingly did not live up to its potential. With the many wild fan theories floating around, you would think that maybe one of them would come true. Absolutely none. The many theories about how the “recast Pietro,” who was played by the same actor who played Quicksilver in the X-Men movies, was actually the beginning of the incorporation of the X-Men into the MCU were shot down after his entire character was revealed as “Ralph Bohner.” All of that build-up and anticipation for his character was only for a joke about erections. Really Marvel? Not only that but after that one joke, we never saw him again.

If that wasn’t disappointing enough, let’s look at the unfulfilling story for Monica. Throughout the show, she has great character development and fills her role as a “side hero,” but all for not since once she finally gains her superhuman abilities, she gets no screen time. Since we’re on the topic of side characters not getting any screen time, Darcy, whose character was an important part of saving Wanda, gets one five-second scene in the finale. Oh, and last but most definitely not least, White Vision. Where did he go? Is he back to normal, still evil, or forgotten about?

Despite all of these plot holes and disappointments, however, WandaVision overall was a fantastic show and did set up an exciting second season. Hopefully, we get to see more of what Wanda can do now that she has unleashed the Scarlet Witch. It is possible that we might see more of Wanda in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Wanda reading from the Darkhold and hearing the twins in the after-credits scene.

Last week, the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released on Disney+. A new episode will come out every Friday for the next few weeks. Fans are very excited for this show and like the direction it is heading in already. From what we can tell, it looks as if the show will be exploring how James “Bucky” Barnes recovers from his brainwashing while under Hydra’s control and attempts to make amends to all the people he has hurt, and how Sam Wilson, the Falcon, will deal with his absence for the last 5 years due to “the blip,” all the while they deal with a group of villains called the Flag Smashers. On top of that, Sam has to deal with the replacement of Captain America after deciding to not take up the role of Captain America.

Speaking of, get ready for a load of new Marvel movies and TV series in the next few years. Later this year, we will be getting Loki, a TV series about the God of Thunder’s evil brother in the alternate timeline caused by Tony in Avengers: Endgame. On July 9, Black Widow will be coming to theaters and streaming on Disney +. Marvel’s What If… , a show exploring the different possible outcomes of the MCU comes out this summer. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings releases on June 9. Marvel’s Eternals will be releasing on November 5, and the last of the releases for 2021 will be Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17.

In 2022, the year starts out with Thor: Love and Thunder on February 11, and only a month later, Marvel blesses us with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming out on March 25. Black Panther 2 is set to release on May 6 and it will not recast another to take the role of King T’Challa due to the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. The movie will explore the world of Wakanda instead of focusing on the hero. The last confirmed date we have is Captain Marvel 2 which will be releasing on July 8. As for future plans, Marvel has announced that they are developing Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Deadpool 3.
