Victoria Edwards Reflecting on Her Own Life

“If I could go back again, I would have given more hugs and kisses to those who needed them, helped more people, had more fun, and not be worried about the future too much.”

Last weekend, the Olympic Heights community was saddened by yet another student death with the passing of senior Victoria Edwards as the result of an auto accident. With the permission of her family, The Torch is sharing the final chapter of Victoria’s Senior Memory Book done in Ms. Verzaal’s English class. In this chapter, entitled “If I Could Live My Life All Over Again I Would……,” there are words of wisdom from which all of us can learn.

If I Could Live My Life All Over Again I Would……

If I could live my life all over again I would have spent more time with my father and my friends. I never actually forgot him, so I should have talked to him like a daughter should do so.

I lost one of my best friends when I was fourteen and he was everything to me, so that really affected me in many ways. If I could go back, I would spend more time with him too.

If I could go back again, I would have given more hugs and kisses to those who needed them, helped more people, had more fun, and not be worried about the future too much.

I would appreciate life more and not be too mean to people or fight people over nothing; I would forgive more people and not judge so much the people around me.

If I could live my life all over again, I would not have done so many of the things that I now regret and that I would pay for the rest of my life for things that I didn’t need to do.

I did travel and played and enjoyed life, but if I could, I would do those things more than the amount that I did.

I wanted to live life and understand more when I was younger and that made me live my life too fast. Everything that happened, happened so fast and it ended so quickly so I didn’t understand what I was going through at the time.

Victoria’s family has set up a GoFundMe page and would greatly appreciate contributions to help them with the financial burden of funeral arrangements.
