After four years, all of the hard work has finally paid off. As of February 1, 2024, the top ten was solidified into history. The 2024 top ten features the brightest students among all of the Lions at Olympic Heights. From the rigorous classes to the outstanding involvement of the students, these Lions have established their spots in the 2024 class.

The top ten was solidified as follows: Russell Etzler is number 10 in the class of 2024. Carly Sirkin holds the number 9 ranking. Lola Kevitch has the number 8 spot. Chloe Legerman is number 7 in the class. Jonathan Robson is 6th in the class. Samantha Cuenot is number 5. Ryan Sacher completed his time at Olympic Heights at the 4 ranking. Piero Morales finalized his time at Olympic as the number 3. The Salutatorian of the 2024 class was Andrew Canter. The Valedictorian of the Olympic Heights Class of 2024 is Jaden Chan.

Number four in the class, Ryan Sacher, has committed to Vanderbilt University. Sacher communicated that he has “always been a hard worker, ever since middle school.” This hard-working nature has “passed itself along to the person that [he is] today.” Sacher also reiterated that seeing his work pay off in the end was phenomenal, as he achieved a very prestigious position in the class.

Piero Morales, number 3 in the class, indicated that he has worked tirelessly since the beginning of his education. He is part of the National Honor Society and has participated in academic games and challenges across his years at Olympic. Morales expressed that he was relieved after getting this position because getting in the top ten has “opened a lot of opportunities for [him] and rewarded [him]” for all of the work that he has done over the years. While Morales did aim high in the class rank during his Junior year, he conveyed that he initially just took rigorous classes that placed him in the position to succeed.

Andrew Canter, OH Class of 2024 Salutatorian

The Salutatorian of the class of 2024 is Andrew Canter. Canter expressed how the Salutatorian title is special to him as it will “follow [him] throughout life.” His academic excellence has not started recently, as he has been in the top ten of the class all four years of his time at Olympic; however, Canter established that last year, he found the ambition to strive for the very top of his class. He is part of the OAPA program and engineering academy at Olympic Heights; in addition, he takes part in the Arts, Math, Technical, and National Honor Societies. Within the school, Andrew is part of the Student Government with his role as Mr. Olympic Heights. Canter has also demonstrated his leadership and commitment to the school by founding and organizing two clubs: the Sports Media Club and the Music Production Club. Furthermore, Canter recounted that putting himself out into different clubs and rigorous classes was “the best decision that [he] made” because it made school more fun and gave him the ability to be involved with a diverse group of people. Canter will pursue his studies next year at the University of Florida.

Jaden Chan, Class of 2024 Valedictorian

The Valedictorian for the 2024 class at Olympic Heights is Jaden Chan. Chan has yet to commit to a college to further pursue his academic career. He holds a prominent position in DECA, competing in nationwide tournaments, and is also part of the National Honor Society. He believes that his hard work will pay off when he is admitted to the best schools in the country. Chan has exceeded exponentially in every one of his classes, which have almost all been at the college level. Due to his high marks, he remarked that “[earning the Valedictorian status] was more expected than a surprise” due to his live rank recorded in SIS. Chan also mentioned his astounding resume, which he credits to be the source of acceptance from colleges.

Olympic Heights has produced a large number of outstanding students, and these ten students represent the majority of the academically successful nature of OH. While these students will go on to reach incredible heights, they will always have the Lion spirit in their blood.
