The Summer of a Lifetime: Self Care, School Prep, and Endless Beach Days

Whether you are spending your summer tanning on the beach, traveling around the world, or enrolling in courses to prepare for the upcoming school year, make the summer of 2024 a time to remember.

To find the perfect balance of productivity and fun over the summer, there are a variety of activities students can partake in.

Adventures and Memories

Places to Travel

Across the world, Greece, Italy, and France are just a few of the destinations Olympic Heights students hope to travel to this summer. If traveling abroad isn’t feasible, Seaside, Rosemary Beach, and Amelia Island are on the bucket list of many students to travel to within Florida as well. Summer voyages are the perfect way for students to escape reality and live the tourist dream. “Seaside, Florida, has been a dream of mine forever,” Roshni Padala, Olympic Heights junior, added. “I cannot wait to visit in July!”

Stroll along the boardwalk at Red Reef Beach

Local Beaches to Visit

Whether you are cruising the waves across the Boynton Inlet, picnicking in the sand on Deerfield Beach, or tanning under the sun at Red Reef Park, a multitude of local beaches tempt Floridians. Each beach close to Olympic Heights students acts as a place of endless sun to lounge around, endless fun to play beach sports such as spikeball, volleyball, and football, and endless waves to surf all day long.

Dining Experiences

Try a delicious playa bowl

Across Palm Beach County, there are a variety of food and drink destinations to visit over the course of the summer. If you are looking for a ‘Pinterest Worthy’ cafe, Pura Vida in Palm Beach and Playa Bowls in Boca Raton are perfect for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a unique food and drink menu, Elisabetta’s Ristorante in Palm Beach, and Delray Market which houses a variety of food options such as Chinese, Italian, and Seafood are perfect for you.

All-night Jams

Attend a concert this summer

For the ultimate summer experience, going to a concert is a must. Whether big or small, there are a variety of artists touring across Florida to give fans the summer of a lifetime. In June, 21 Savage is making an appearance at the iTHINK Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach. Following this, Zach Bryan is making two appearances in Florida: one in July in Sunrise, and one in August in Tampa. “I am counting down the days until the Zach Bryan concert this summer,” Grace Deeb, Olympic Heights junior, shared.

Buried in Books

Dual Enrollment

Dual enroll at Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College, or Broward College.

If you are hoping to get a head start on your college credits and boost your GPA, Dual Enrollment is an excellent option. Whether you dual enroll through Palm Beach State or UF, these exceptional colleges offer a variety of courses to prepare for college and obtain additional credits on the path to success. Not only do these courses provide hardworking students with college credits, but they can also be extremely beneficial throughout a student’s high school career. If you are looking for a way to keep yourself busy with work over summer, this virtual option is perfect for you.

College Tours

Florida is home to great colleges and universities.

For upcoming juniors and seniors, visiting colleges is essential in mapping out a plan for the next major years of your life. Whether you tour college campuses on your own or through an established organization, this can be extremely beneficial in taking you one step closer to the ultimate college decision. “I will never forget my college tour with Grand College Tours,” Brooke Smith, Olympic Heights junior, commented. “It was truly what led me to realize UF was where I was destined to be.”

Whether you spend your summer on adventures making memories, or buried in books, make the 2024 summer the best it can possibly be.
