Derrick Morgan and Samuel Clingan Win Gold Medals at State Games

Olympic Heights Special Olympians Derrick Morgan and Samuel Clingan collectively won two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal at the Florida State Special Olympic Games held at Disnety’s Wide World of Sports over the weekend of May 20.

Morgan won the gold medal in the 100 meter dash and a silver medal in the 200 meter dash. Clingan won the gold medal in the softball throw and a bronze medal in the 50 meter dash.

Morgan has gone on to graduate from OH but will continue with the Special Olympics Program in the Fall participating in the bowling program. In addition to Coach Lewis, recognition is due to OH Special Olympics coaches Virgina Kelly and Joseph Leaming. The entire Olympic Heights community could not be more proud of its two outstanding gold medal winning athletes.
