The Olympic Heights girls’ soccer team is off to a 2-0 start after beating Somerset Canyons 1-0 on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the season opener at home and then downing Lake Worth 5-0 on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Valeria Degrossi scored the lone goal in the win over Somerset Canyons. Eva Giordano scored two goals and added two assists in the win over Lake Worth. Also scoring in the Lake Worth game were DeGrossi, getting her second goal of the season, Jaselyn Cappello and Makayla Comstock. Goalkeeper Victoria Barreto earned the shutouts in both victories.

The girls’ Junior Varsity team also beat Lake Worth 5-0. Scoring for the Lions and getting their first goals of the season were Alexis Schiler, Lindsey Poloskey, Sophia Saravia, Mariana Vallejo and Shoshi Helpisen.
